We accept original pieces that have not been published anywhere before, including online and on your own blog, except for cross-posts of articles from SPR (our own site). We check for plagiarism and duplicate content. Once the piece is published, you may share the link on your own social media or blog.
You can submit to the following:
Anatomy of a Novel – One great novel dissected in detail to a high academic standard. See the existing features before submitting. Minimum 800 words. Must include quotations and citations.
Book Reviews – Check the book is not reviewed already. You cannot review your own book. The review must be original, i.e. it must be published with us first, including on your own site. Minimum 300 words.
Writing – We accept short fiction, poems, excerpts of a book that is recently or soon to be published, or articles on writing.
Images – We accept photos, drawings, and paintings for inclusion to illustrate our articles. You must have created the image yourself and hold full rights to it.
You may include a link to your author/writing/book site.
How to Submit Writing
- Your submission should be a Word document, single spaced, in either Arial or Times New Roman black font.
- Please ensure the first page has your email address, link to your website, and your full author name on it.
- Please check any unusual names.
- Use page numbers for an Anatomy of a Novel submission.
- Please spellcheck your English for US or UK English.
- Upload one copy to our secure and private Dropbox
How to Submit Images
- Your submission should be a PDF or JPEG.
- 150dpi.
- Colour should be RGB for web use.
- No smaller than 400px x 400px.
- No larger than 1000px x 800px.
